Cousins says maybe he would consider UW again

As I type this, John Calipari is still weighing whether to become the new coach at Kentucky.
If he does leave Memphis, that would mean that players who have committed to the school, but have not signed letters-of-intent, would be free to look around elsewhere, a group that includes Alabama big man DeMarcus Cousins.
And Cousins is quoted today in a Scout.com story as saying that he would indeed reconsider UW — a school that was on his list before committing to Memphis — if Calipari leaves.
Cousins told Scout.com that Kansas State and UW were the two closest competitors to Memphis before he committed to the Tigers.
“They would be back in the picture because I have a great relationship with the coaches at Kansas State and Washington,” he said.
His statement about UW being one of his finalists is counter to what was reported in an Alabama newspaper shortly before he committed to Memphis, when he was indirectly quoted as saying that Washington was no longer on his list. At that time, he said that North Carolina State, Missouri and K-State were his finalists along with Memphis.
Whatever the case, sounds as if UW may indeed still have a shot at Cousins if Calipari leaves. What apparently may not be an option is following Calipari to Kentucky as the Wildcats are two over the scholarship limit already for next year with returning players and those who signed early.
