Potential Arizona stunner, and McDonald’s wrap

Wow. Didn’t see this coming. But reports tonight are that Tim Floyd may make a rare in-conference move and leave USC to take over at Arizona.
The LA Daily News reports Floyd flew to Tucson today.
On the surface, hard to figure why he’d do that unless he’s simply tired of playing second fiddle to football at his own school and to UCLA in Los Angeles.
As far as I can tell, the only Pac-10 coach to ever leave one school to coach at another the next season is Marv Harshman when he left WSU for UW in 1971.
My research indicates only four coaches have ever coached two different Pac-10 schools — Harshman, Mike Montgomery (Cal, Stanford), George Raveling (WSU, USC) and Forrest Twogood (Idaho, USC back in the 1930s through 60s.).
Arizona AD Jim Livengood worked at WSU in the late ’80s when Floyd was head coach at Idaho, so maybe there is some long-standing connection there.
MCDONALD’S GAME WRAPUP — Here’s our story on the McDonald’s All-American game with UW signee Abdul Gaddy scoring six points, though with the East winning.
