Interesting move at Oregon

Oregon not only decided to keep Ernie Kent today but also hired Mike Dunlap as associate head coach.
That’s a pretty significant move as Dunlap is a highly-regarded coach who was initially offered the interim head coaching job at Arizona this year before turning it down, with Russ Pennell then taking it, instead. Dunlap stayed in Tucson, however, and was given a lot of credit for helping hold the team steady this season as the Wildcats advanced to the Sweet 16, the conventional thinking being that he had the most sway over X’s and O’s matters.
Here’s more on what the Dunlap hire could mean for the Ducks.
Also, reports out of Arizona now are that Jeff Capel may be the front-runner for the UA job.
Finally, Jon Wilner weighs in with some early thoughts on the Pac-10 race next season.
