Brockman wins Chip Hilton award

Jon Brockman has been named as this year’s Chip Hilton Award winner.
Brockman was one of five graduating players named as a finalist for the award, which will be presented on April 5 at the NABC Past Presidents’ Luncheon at the COBO Center. Washington coach Lorenzo Romar is expected to accept the award on Brockman’s behalf.

The Chip Hilton Award honors a graduating player for demonstrating outstanding leadership, character and talent similar to the qualities evident in the Chip Hilton series of books, according to the press release.
Other finalists included Tyler Hansbrough of North Carolina and J.J. Abrams of Texas.
