Bone new WSU coach UPDATED

As many expected from the minute the job became open almost exactly a week ago today, former UW assistant Ken Bone has reportedly been offered the head coaching position at Washington State.
UPDATE — And he’s now accepted it, a university official has confirmed to Bud Withers of our staff.
Bone at WSU will create a rather interesting dynamic in this rivalry due to the close association between UW coach Lorenzo Romar and Bone, who was an assistant for Romar during his first three seasons at Washington, helping guide the Huskies back to prominence.
Bone’s departure creates an opening at Portland State that could be a sought-after job by current UW assistants Cameron Dollar and Jim Shaw. However, there is also some sentiment that the job could go to Tyler Geving, currently PSU’s associate head coach.
Dollar could also emerge as a candidate at Seattle University.
Bone’s hiring now completes the coaching lineup in the Pac-10 barring any unexpected movement from here.
Oregon’s Ernie Kent will enter next season as the dean of Pac-10 coaches, having been coach of the Ducks since 1997. Romar is second in seniority having been at UW since 2002, followed by UCLA’s Ben Howland (2003).
But from there, the coaching lineup is pretty young in terms of Pac-10 tenure.
Fourth on the list is USC’s Tim Floyd (2005), followed by Herb Sendek (2006), Stanford’s Johnny Dawkins, Oregon State’s Craig Robinson and Cal’s Mike Montgomery (all 2008), and Bone and Arizona’s Sean Miller (2009).
