A few more notes on Bone, and Cousins officially makes his pick

As Bud Withers of our paper wrote today, the hiring of Ken Bone at WSU will put a different tenor on the UW-WSU rivalry due to the close relationship between Bone and Washington coach Lorenzo Romar.
Withers explored that relationship a bit in his piece and also offered a couple of other telling quoutes. In one, Romar talked about how Bone’s personality fit his so well during their years at UW. “I’m a guy that in adverse situations, I like calm,” Romar said. “I don’t like a whole lof ot unnecessary emotional reaction. He’s really good at that.” Fans may want to remember that quote when they wonder, in the aftermath of a particularly heated loss, if the Huskies are going to start changing everything. As his quote indicates, that’s not Romer’s style to overreact to things.
Bone also is quoted in the story saying that he plans to recruit the Puget Sound area more heavily than the Cougars have in the past and that he figures he will bring to WSU with him some of his Portland State assistants, including possibly former Husky guard Curtis Allen.
IN OTHER NEWS. …
Nick Daschel of Buster Sports says the two new coaching hires could soon make the Pac-10 the best league in the country.
DeMarcus Cousins has officially decided to follow John Calipari to Kentucky, according to his high school coach.
All for now.
