Brockman named team MVP

As might be expected, Jon Brockman was named Washington’s MVP during the team’s annual season-ending banquet tonight.
The senior forward won the 950 KJR Most Valuable Player Award for the third straight year, tying the mark set by Eldridge Recasner.
Also, Justin Dentmon was named as the winner of the Hec Edmundson Most Inspirational award; Brockman won the Marv Harshman Trophy as the top rebounder making him a four-time winner, the first time in Husky history; and Venoy Overton won the Wurster Award as top hustler.
Here’s the official release with more details.
In other awards:
— Overton won the John Meyers Defensive Player award;
Quincy Pondexter and Justin Dentmon split the Most Improved Player award;
Isaiah Thomas was named as the Playmaker of the Year;
— Pondexter was also named the winner of the Industrial Award;
Artem Wallace was named the winner of the 101 Club Scholar-Athlete majoring in Russian Language & Literature major;
— and the Coaches Award for best attitude went to Darnell Gant.
