Dollar to Seattle U. made official, other coaching rumors

The official announcement has come this morning of the hire of Cameron Dollar at Seattle U., as we reported first here last night.
A press conference will be held at 1 p.m. and I’ll attend it and pass along any Husky-related tidbits that may come out of it.
The question now is who replaces Dollar at UW as the lead assistant to Lorenzo Romar.
A couple of people it probably won’t be are Curtis Allen, who I’m told is going to end up at WSU on Ken Bone’s staff; and Seattle Pacific coach Jeff Hironaka, who I hear also could be headed to WSU to fill out Bone’s staff. (And if Hironaka does head to WSU, that will create another local coaching opening that could be attractive to current members of UW’s coaching staff).
One obvious thought is former Alabama coach Mark Gottfried, a close friend of Romar’s from their days as assistants together at UCLA. I know Gottfried was in LA this year when the Huskies played UCLA and USC down there — Romar and Gottfried talked after the game in Pauley Pavilion. But Gottfried might still be wanting to wait for a head coaching job.
Another possibility is former UW guard Senque Carey, who has been an assistant at Fresno State the past four years.
What we’ll also have to see is whether Dollar takes any other members of UW’s basketball staff with him to Seattle U — not assistants Jim Shaw or Paul Fortier but maybe some of the others.
