More trouble brewing at USC

I sense a desire for some of you to talk about what’s happening at USC, so I’ll post some links here and devote this entry to that topic.
Here’s the initial Yahoo.com story that broke late yesterday afternoon alleging USC hoops coach Tim Floyd gave $1,000 to one of O.J. Mayo’s handlers.
Here’s a good sidebar from Yahoo on what it could mean for USC, along with a list of everyone it is thought the NCAA has talked with in this investigation — which would seem to dispel the notion that the NCAA hasn’t been doing anything.
That idea seems further negated in this LA Daily News story noting that the NCAA already knew about this allegation.
The LA Times also has a really good recap of it all including more comments from the man making the allegations, Louis Johnson, who ominously for USC didn’t back down when contacted by the Times.
Here’s a different take on it from a Times blogger.
And as might be expected, the guys at Bruins Nation aren’t exactly feeling sad about it all.
