Sporting News lauds Overton, UW backcourt

Not a lot out there on the college basketball front these days. But Mike DeCourcy of The Sporting News attempts to fill the void with his regular look at five issues in college hoops.
And in item No. 4, he lists UW guard Venoy Overton as a player “most of us don’t know but will by the end of 2009.”
He further writes that the trio of Overton, Abdul Gaddy and Isaiah Thomas “should become the nation’s best backcourt.”
He also says Overton should be a candidate for national defensive player of the year honors. Heady praise, indeed.
