Arizona gets tougher

In Pac-10 news that could have a big impact on UW’s attempt to repeat as conference champs next season, Arizona point guard Nic Wise has decided to return for his senior year.
This doesn’t necessarily make Arizona a contender, but the return of Wise coupled with some solid recruiting work by Sean Miller since taking over means the Wildcats don’t figure to drop as much as many anticipated when the year ended — remember Andy Katz writing that UA would likely be picked to finish last next season?
Instead, the return of Wise — an All-Pac-10 second-team pick last year — and the addition of three four-star recruits signed since Miller took over — a group Scout.com rates No. 12 in the country — makes me think UA will battle for a spot in the top of a Pac-10 that doesn’t figure to be all that strong next season.
