Jon Brockman’s NBA debut

We won’t do a whole lot of NBA stuff here, but I thought I’d pass along the box score from tonight’s Sacramento vs. Portland exhibition at the Rose Garden, which featured several ex-Huskies including Jon Brockman.
Brockman and Spencer Hawes’ Kings (0-1) lost 98-86 to the Trail Blazers (1-0) and Brandon Roy. (Do we consider Martell Webster an honorary Husky even though he never played for UW?)
In his first NBA game, Brockman came off the bench and entered with 2:25 minutes remaining in the first period. He replaced C Jason Thompson. Brockman finished with four points on 2-for-4 shooting in 18:23 minutes. He also had six rebounds, one assist and four fouls.
Hawes had five points and three rebounds in 23:45 minutes. Roy had six points, four rebounds and two assists and Webster, who missed most of last season, had six points and two rebounds.
Here’s what Brockman posted on his Twitter page after the game.
I wasn’t at the game, but those who were there said the 6-7 Brockman is playing center and did a fair job against Portland’s 7-footers Joel Przybilla and Greg Oden.
FYI: Brockman, Hawes and the Kings return to Rip City Dec. 15 and March 9.
