More Midnight Madness info

Washington is encouraging fans to arrive early Friday for Midnight Madness. Doors open at 7:15 p.m., however, the event is expected to begin at 7:45 p.m. depending on the length of the volleyball match against UCLA.
The school suggest fans purchase tickets (reserved seats are $9 and general admission seats are $6 for adults, $4 for youths and senior citizens) to the volleyball match to guarantee good seats for the basketball events. However, Midnight Madness is free and open to the public.
Events scheduled include: a dunk contest, three-point shoot-out, a team skit, student contests and an intrasquad scrimmage. Coach Lorenzo Romar will emcee.
ESPNU will include portions of Washington’s events during its nine-school package that airs betwee 6-10 p.m. ESPN2 will also broadcast simulcast at 8:30 p.m.
And here’s a few afternoon links.
Hoopsworld.com says Washington is the best team on the west coast.
— On it’s pay site forum, Aaron Beach at Dawgman.com said he heard Kentwood star Josh Smith may announce he’s chosen UCLA over Washington on Saturday. Beach said he’s skeptical, but claims he has quality contacts.
