Video: Isaiah Thomas wins slam dunk contest

Washington star Isaiah Thomas was likley inspired by his mentor Nate Robinson when he pulled off this dunk last night. You’ll remember the 5-9 Robinson leapt over 6-11 Dwight Howard earlier this year to win the NBA Slam Dunk title.

This time, Thomas, 5-8, leapt over 6-9 Matthew Bryan-Amaning. Coach Lorezno Romar appeared a little worried before his star guard jumped over the likely starting center. In this clip, you can hear Romar caution: “We have practice in the morning.”
And I know a few spectators last night were surprised Bryan-Amaning was the runner-up, but apparently he showcased similar ability this summer in England at Midnight Madness, which is the UK’s biggest summer basketball event.
