Thursday practice notes

A reader asked yesterday about C.J. Wilcox being sick and in hindsight I guess I should have went into it with a bit more detail. Wilcox, who practiced Tuesday, did indeed miss drills Wednesday and was not at practice today either.
As coach Lorenzo Romar noted earleir this week, “it’s a weird deal. When we finally get to practice, you don’t know. Someone that seemed like they were coming back may have gotten worse.”
That’s what happened to Wilcox.
Otherswise, the Huskies continue to get healthier. They had 11 players at practice. Venoy Overton and Matthew Bryan-Amaning returned to practice. Tyreese Breshers was also on the court, however, he appeared limited.
Justin Holiday, who is returning from offseason hernia surgery, was also off to the side.
Early in practice, the Huskies worked a lot of defensive drills. The team was seperated in two groups, which likely doesn’t mean a whole lot.
The gold: Isaiah Thomas, Scott Suggs, Darnell Gant, Overton and Bryan-Amaning.
And the purple: Abdul Gaddy, Elston Turner, Quincy Pondexter, Clarence Trent and Breshers.
