CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE
Coach: Bobby Braswell, 209-184 in his 14th season.
Last season: 17-14 overall, 11-5 in Big West (1st)
Last NCAA tournament appearance: 2009
Record: 4-3
Prediction: Picked third in the Big West by media.
Series: Washington leads 3-0. Last meeting: 80-66 victory on Dec. 22, 2007 at Edmundson Pavilion. Venoy Overton scored 14 points on 5-for-5 shooting, including 4-for-4 on three-pointers. Quincy Pondexter (2 points), Matthew Bryan-Amaning (4) and Justin Holiday (0) were the other Huskies who played in that game.
PLAYER TO WATCH:
— G/F Kenny Daniel’s scored 39 points, the most by a Matador player since 1967, in a 95-93 win against Idaho on Thursday. He’s posted double-digit scoring in every game this season and led CS Northridge in scoring four times. It looks as if he’s picked up where he left off last season when team coaches voted him the Matadors Most Improved Player.

OVERVIEW

— CS Northridge has a three-game winning streak after losing three of its first four games to TCU, Western Kentucky and No. 7 Purdue.
— The Matadors have either won outright or earned a share of the league title the last two seasons. Last year, they nearly upset Memphis in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
— CS Northridge return three starters and lost five of its top six scorers.
— Northridge will play four of its next five games on the road
KEY MATCHUP: Statistically Bryan-Amaning, Washington’s big man, will have a size advantage against Michael Lizarrage, who is two inches shorter.
