San Francisco game thread

LIVE CHAT — I’m guessing it will take about 30 minutes to complete post-game interviews. Check back and we’ll start around 2:30 p.m.
NOW ITS OVER — UW 86-71. Trent punctuated the win with a windmill dunk with 0.5 seconds left.
IT’S A WRAP — Not over yet, but the fans are streaming for the exits. Pondexter is out. He had 22 points and 5 rebounds. UW 77-60.
THOMAS CHECSK OUT — Not sure if Thomas will return. If he doesn’t, he’ll finish with just four points on 1 for 9 shooting. He also has a team-high six assists. UW 77-57.
GOOD BLOCK, BAD CALL — Bryan-Amaning went high to block Lowhorn’s layup, however, the refs called a foul. UW 70-57.
UNOFFICIAL DUNK TALLY — I’ve got four, which has to be near a high this season. UW 68-53.
THE ROUT IS ON AGAIN — Overton snagged a steal and passed to Turner for a layup that put UW ahead 64-49.
HIGHLIGHT — Turner ripped Green in the open court and flipped the ball over his head to Overton who threw a no-look pass to Bryan-Amaning who dunked over Williams. UW 60-47.
THOMAS FIRST BASKET — It took 32 minutes for Thomas to score his first basket. He was 0-7 before sinking a driving layup. UW 58-47.
UW ZONE — You don’t see it often, but UW has played a 2-3 zone on the past two possessions. The switch has confused the Dons. UW 55-47.
SUGGS’ BIG THREE — Suggs was 0 for 3 on treys before knocking down a three-pointer as the shot clock was winding down. UW 53-45.
NOW ITS DOWN TO 4 — The Dons continue to push and UW has lost its rhythm. I think Romar is done experimenting with the lineup and he’s set on pulling out a win. For a few minutes, he had some strange lineups on the floor. Now he has Thomas at point guard with Suggs, Turner, Pondexter and Bryan-Amaning. UW 47-43.
STRANGE LINEUP — Gaddy, Trent, Turner, Suggs and Breshers.
THE LEAD IS DOWN TO 9 — Washington’s offense has become stagnant while Thomas hoists a couple of three-pointers. USF meanwhile continues to press and keep the tempo high. UW 45-36.
CLARENCE TRENT — Trent makes his debut. UW 43-29.
HALFTIME OBSERVATIONS — USF has a 16-15 lead when everything changed. UW went on a 20-3 run and turned a close game into a rout. Gant is doing a great job on Lowhorn. Gaddy ended his scoreless streak and Pondexter is playing an all-around exceptional game.
HALFTIME STATS — UW: Pondexter 11 points, Breshers 9, Overton 5, Gaddy 4. FG: 45.2 percent (14 of 31), 3-PT 40 percent (2 of 5), FT 62.5 percent (2 of 5), 15 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 5 turnovers.
USF: Diarra 6 points, Caloiaro 5, Green 4. FG: 24 percent (6 of 25), 3-PT 20 percent (2 of 10), FT 83.3 percent (5 of 6), 18 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 steals, 10 turnovers.
HALFTIME — UW 35-19.
THE ROUT IS ON — It took a little longer than expected, but UW has taken control of the game. Lowhorn has abandoned the post and now he’s jacking up three-pointers and shots on teh perimeter. The Huskies are on a 14-0 streak. Overton just sank a three-pointer to put UW ahead 29-16.
SMOTHERING LOWHORN — Lowhorn is 1 for 6. Whenever he gets the ball in the post, he’s attracting a crowd. Gant is doing the initial work and Breshers and Pondexter are giving help. UW 24-16.
HOLIDAY IS ACTIVE — Holiday is playing his best game in a long time. Francis Williams just made a great point: “Justin Holiday is trying to get his minutes back. Scott Suggs you better watch out.” UW 13-12.
SECOND SUBS — Justin Holiday and Tyreese Breshers checked in for Gant and Bryan-Amaning.
TV TIMEOUT — USF looks like a two-man team: Lowhorn is the scorer and Caloiaro is the shooter. The rest of the Dons stand around and wait for something to happen. The Huskies guards are harassing USF’s ball handlers, making it difficult to start its offense. UW 9-5.
FIRST SUBS — Venoy Overton and Scott Suggs are in for Gaddy and Thomas. UW 5-5.
INTERESTING MATCHUPS — Pondexter is starting out defensively on Caloiaro and Gant is assigned to Lowhorn, USF’s leading scorer.
CHANGES FOR THE DONS — Williams and Bruha are late additions to the starting lineup. Both have started this season.
STARTING LINEUPS — No change for UW: Pondexter, Isaiah Thomas, Abdul Gaddy, Darnell Gant and Matthew Bryan-Amaning.
San Francisco:
F – Angelo Caloiaro
F- Dior Lowhorn
C – Tomas Bruha
G – Michael Williams
G — Dontae Bryant
PRE-GAME NOTES:
— Since moving to the bench, Overton is averaging 11.5 points per game in the past two games.
— If Quincy Pondexter’s maintains his 21.9 scoring average, it would be the third highest in UW history.
GOING FOR 1,600 — With a win UW becomes the 16th Division I team to reach 1,600 victories.
FREE ONLINE AUDIO — Courtesy of San Francisco, the Dons provide this link for free audio. There should be video as well, but it’s not popping up for me just yet.
ON THE BOOB TUBE — FSN has the game. Tom Glasgow and Francis Williams are the announcers. Angie Mentink is the sideline reporter.
PROGRAMMING ALERT — We’ll have a Live Chat after the game, following post-game interviews. It should start between 2-2:30 p.m.
