Pac-10 gets shutout of polls

Just put in a call to the Pac-10 office and they’re looking to find out when was the last time the conference hasn’t had a team ranked among the top 25 in either poll.
Today is a hallmark day for the conference, which was shutout of the rankings. Depending on what the conference stat keepers find, today could be a historic day.
Since the conference expanded to 10 teams for the 1978-79 season, I’m having a difficult time figuring out when the Pac-10 wouldn’t have a ranked team.
It happened today when Washington tumbled out of the polls and it’ll likely happen a few more times this season.
The Huskies have lost three consecutive games and fell to the bottom of the league standings with a 1-3 record. They are 10-5 overall. Despite their recent decline, one of the coaches gave them a vote in the ESPN/USA Today poll.
The writers didn’t give any Pac-10 team a vote. In the coaches’ poll, Arizona State received five votes.
According to RealTimeRPI.com, the conference would likely advance one team to the NCAA tournament. California’s RPI rank is 32 and USC is 51. The Trojans, however, are banned from postseason competition.
Washington is 64, Arizona 72 and Washington State 79.
The NCAA’s official RPI ranking hasn’t been released yet.
