Former Washington basketball player Doug Wrenn, who was convicted last year of two counts of second-degree assault with a handgun in a Bellevue road-rage incident, was released Monday.
Wrenn maintains his innocence and plans to file an appeal.
“I just want to get my good name back,” he said.
He also plans to resume his professional basketball career, but admits he needs to shed weight and get back in shape.
Wrenn served 43 days in King County Jail before being transferred to the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, WA. He was then moved to Reynolds Work Release and 21 days was credited to his sentence for good time, said a Department of Corrections spokeswoman.
Here’s a lengthy story on Wrenn’s case before he was sentenced.
