Washington falls into Pac-10 cellar again

The Huskies didn’t play tonight, but they still fell from eighth into a last-place tie with Oregon and Oregon State in the Pac-10.
It’s the second time this season, UW has resided at the bottom of the conference standings. The other time, Jan. 11 when UW was 1-3.
AROUND THE LEAGUE:
Jamal Boykin, who moved from power forward to center, scored a career-high 25 points and had 10 rebounds to lead California to a 78-70 victory at Arizona State.
— ASU played without starting guard Jamelle McMillan for the third straight game and fell to 1-2 when he doesn’t play.
— Arizona survived a 31-point outburst from Stanford’s Landry Fields and 25 from Jeremy Green to hang on to a 76-68 victory at McKale Center. The win allows the Wildcats to keep pace with Cal and remain a game behind the first-place Bears. Arizona hosts Cal Saturday.
— Oregon State shut down USC in the second half for a 51-45 victory that snapped a three-game losing streak. The Trojans shot 30 percent in the second half (7-for-23) and scored all of 18 points.
— USC coach Kevin O’Neill needs to be careful of what he wishes for.
— Oregon snapped a five-game losing streak, beating UCLA 71-66 in overtime.
— UCLA’s Michael Roll forced overtime with a late three-pointer, however, the Bruins were outscored 16-11 in the extra period.
