Video: Pondexter on POY race; Thomas on OSU’s zone

Washington senior Quincy Pondexter is battling a cold, but said there’s no way he misses Thursday’s quarterfinal pairing against Oregon State in the Pac-10 Tournament.
Before addressing the Beavers and the conference tourney, Pondexter talked about the Player of the Year award, which went to California senior Jerome Randle.
In one instance Pondexter said he “doesn’t hold a grudge” against the conference coaches and seconds later he said “it’s something that I’m going to always remember for the rest of my life.”
IN OTHER NEWS:

— Thomas said Oregon State’s zone is “the hardest I’ve ever faced.” He’s scored 19 points in both games against the Beavers this season. Thomas said his secret is not being afraid to commit turnovers.
— Romar supports rotating the conference tournament between the Staples Center, KeyArena, the Rose Garden, US Airways Center in Phoenix and the Oracle Arena in the Bay Area.
— Walk-on sophomore Brendan Sherrer, who had an infection that forced him to be hospitalized a couple of weeks ago, has not rejoined the team and will not travel with UW to Los Angeles.
