Thursday morning links: Almost game time

Big, big day. Here’s some links to get you started.
Steve Kelley writes: “Washington has a legitimate shot at the Sweet 16.”
— Here’s our advance, notebook and preview that ran in the newspaper.
— On the official UW blog or blawg, the school noted “The Husky Ticket Office sold and distributed roughly 600 all-session tickets to the games in San Jose. Each team is allotted a total of 550 tickets to the regional, none of which are broken-up by session – every ticket provided to the schools are for all three sessions of the regional. The UW was able to secure a few additional tickets from other schools in the regional and those were made available to season ticket holders. Considering that the UW has a sizable alumni base in California, it is pretty safe to assume a lot of Husky fans have purchased tickets through HP Pavilion and/or local ticket brokers.”
— The Husky Ticket Office is also accepting deposits for 2010-11 season tickets. A deposit of $100 ensures priority for tickets next season.
— The Everett Herald writes UW and MU have traveled similar paths to get to today’s game.
— The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel writes about Darius Johnson-Odom, who could be the star of today’s game.
Scout.com provides a photo gallery of yesterday’s practices and press conferences.
— Reminder that if you can’t catch the game on TV, you can watch it live for free online courtesy of CBS.com.
MORE BAD NEWS FOR THE PAC:10:
— Oregon State, the CBI defending champion, lost 98-76 to Boston University in the first round of the tournament it won last year. BU, a hockey school, that traveled 3,000 to Corvallis, Ore. captured the school’s first post-season win since 1959.
The Beavers lost a day after Arizona State, the NIT No. 1 seed, lost at home. UW and Cal are the only Pac-10 schools remaining in the postseason.
— And speaking of Cal, Bears coach Mike Montgomery suspended starting forward Omondi Amoke indefinitely for violating team rules. Cal flew to Florida to face Louisville on Friday. Possible replacement’s include: guard Jorge Gutierrez or 6-7 center Markhuri Sanders-Frison.
