NOTES:
— Eight teams have secured a spot in the next round including two double-digit seeds: No. 11 Washington and No. 10 Saint Mary’s. The others are: No. 1 Kentucky, No. 2 Kansas State, No. 3 Baylor, No. 5 Butler and No. 6 Tennessee and No. 9 Northern Iowa.
— The only other time Washington was a #11 seed in the NCAA Tournament , the Huskies defeated Xavier and Richmond to advance to the Sweet 16 before losing to sixth-ranked Connecticut (75-74 loss in Greensboro, N.C.).
— With his 15 points against New Mexico, Isaiah Thomas now has 1,121 career points, all in just two seasons – the most ever for a Washington player in their first two seasons.
