Husky Men's Basketball

The latest news and analysis on Husky men's hoops.

Plenty of evening links to digest

Before I sign off, wanted to pass along some links.
— But first, here’s a Programming Note: Former Huskies Jamaal Williams and Ryan Appleby are the guests of honor on a Live Chat on Wednesday. Check the website for times.
— And speaking of Appleby, I talked to him today about UW’s last Sweet 16 visit.
He said there’s three things he remembers: No. 1. Rashad Anderson’s three-pointer with 1.8 seconds left in regulation that forced overtime. No. 2. Stealing a pass in OT and throwing it to Joel Smith before he lost it on a turnover. No. 3. His three-point attempt with less than 2 seconds in regulation that would have won the game.
— The big news of the East Region concerns West Virginia point guard Truck Bryant, who broke his foot and is out of the NCAA tournament.
Bud Withers profiles Bob Huggins and writes the former Cincinnati coach hasn’t mellowed or softened now that he’s with West Virginia.
The Charleston Daily Mail writes Da’Sean Butler and Co. are a fun and confident bunch.
— Nice feature a couple of days ago in the Williamson Daily News about the Mountaineers playing for the state of West Virginia.
— Villanova coach Jay Wright tells the Philadelphia Inquirer the Big East tournament “is so big and it drains you so much that sometimes it’s hard to get yourself going again.”
— The Bleacher Report ranks the Cinderellas.
All for now.
