After Sweet 16 Defeat, UW Endures 15-hour Trip Back Seattle

Unlike some of us who are stuck in Syracuse, N.Y., the Huskies flew home immediately following their 69-56 defeat to West Virginia in the East regional semifinal.
The team boarded a charter shortly after midnight ET for what should have been a five-hour flight that got them in Seattle around 4 in the morning.
The flight made a scheduled landing in Minneapolis, Minn. to take on fuel when a problem with the aircraft was detected. The team spent five hours at the airport before a boarding a replacement airplane that carried them home.
They landed in Seattle at 9:30 a.m. where they were greeted by a small contingent of UW staff members and local television media.
You can read a full recap of the travel adventures on UW’s blog.
