Former Washington standout Spencer Hawes will return home to Seattle on Friday to receive a second opinion after being diagnosed with a season-ending bone contusion in his left knee.
An MRI performed today also revealed an irregular signal in the joint line.
The Sacramento center is expected to miss the final six games of the season. The Kings (24-52) are eliminated from the playoffs.
Hawes, a third-year veteran, averaged 10 points and 6.10 rebounds in 72 games played this season.
