Just spoke to a Washington spokesman who confirmed Isaiah Thomas (left) is having surgery today on his right big toe. Thomas revealed the surgery yesterday on his Twitter page.
The All-Pac-10 sophomore guard is having a bone spur removed. The spur became aggravated and troublesome in the second-round NCAA tournament game against New Mexico, but Thomas never talked about the injury.
The surgery is considered “minor” and Thomas was expected to return home today. He’ll need 3-6 weeks to rehab and will wear a protective walking boot during the recovery.
