A Week Later, UW and UK Still Waiting On Terrence Jones

Made another round of calls to the folks around Terrence Jones, the country’s top-rated unsigned basketball recruit, and there’s nothing new to report.
It’s difficult to believe his recruiting saga intensified a week ago during last Friday’s press conference when he picked up a black Washington baseball cap among six choices.
Seven days later, there’s still no definitive resolution.
Jones has publicly talked about this story just once, telling the Oregonian he’s still committed to the Huskies, but unwilling to sign anything.
According to his Twitter page, it appears he’s still undecided about Washington and Kentucky.

FRIDAY MORNING LINKS:
— Interesting Q&A between Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott and AOL Fanhouse about expansion. Most believe the league is considering adding two teams, however, Fanhouse explores the topic of the Pac-10 becoming the Pac-16 and evolving into a mega-conference with two eight-team divisions.
— Looks like new Oregon coach Dana Altman missed on landing the first big-time recruit since taking over the Ducks job. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Dwayne Polee Jr. committed to St. John’s after visiting Oregon a few weeks ago.
— Plenty of speculation about the future whereabouts of Wear twins David and Travis, the McDonald’s All-Americans who are transferring from North Carolina. Bruce Pascoe at the Arizona Daily Star doesn’t think they’ll land with the Wildcats and believes UCLA is the likely destination.
— Former Husky Brandon Roy was the final member of the All-NBA team snaring 87 points for a place on the third team.
— Former UW star Detlef Schrempf made a guest appearance on the NBC sitcom ‘Parks and Recreation.’
— The 80 underclassmen who declared for the NBA draft have until Saturday to withdraw and retain their college eligibility if they did not hire an agent.
— The Sporting News’ Mike DeCourcy believes Kentucky coach John Calipari stays with Kentucky at least until next season.
— Lots of internet rumors coming out of Lexington, KY this week and most of them were bogus.
