Fox Writer Ranks UW 8th, SI.com Says 21st Next Season

There’s still some uncertainty involving Washington recruit Terrence Jones , however, most college basketball analysts has UW ranked in the top 25 of the preseason polls.
Jeff Goodman at Foxsports.com puts the Huskies at No. 8 in his preseason poll.
Goodman writes: “The Huskies’ lone major loss is Pondexter. That’ll be a hit, but not one that Lorenzo Romar can’t recover from. This ranking is based on Terrence Jones sticking to his commitment to U-Dub. Thomas, Overton and Gaddy — now with a year of experience — will be one of the nation’s top backcourts. Bryan-Amaning finally began to realize his potential down the stretch, while guys like Holiday and Suggs also had their moments.”
SI.com writer Luke Winn has the Huskies at No. 21 among his top 32 teams, which has been adjusted after players declared early for the NBA draft.
No other Pac-10 team is listed among the preseason rankings.
TUESDAY MORNING LINK:
— Stanford senior Landry Fields is one of six named the Pac-10 winter Scholar-Athletes of the Year. He attained a 3.03 grade-point average in communications.
