Poll Question: Do You Still Want Terrence Jones?

It probably wasn’t his intent, but Terrence Jones has become one of the most polarizing Washington recruit in recent memory.
He draws a strong reaction – favorable and unfavorable – from Washington and Kentucky fans, which is not terribly surprising because he’s held the basketball programs at both schools in limbo since committing to the Huskies while still flirting with the Wildcats.
Given the strong sentiment on Jones in the comments section, it feels appropriate to get a gauge from readers on how you feel about the 6-foot-9 star forward from Portland’s Jefferson High who is ranked the No. 9 senior in the nation by ESPNU and No. 13 by Rivals.com.

— The men’s basketball team and women’s golf team were two of more than 800 Division I sports teams recognized by the NCAA for their work in the classroom as part of the NCAA’s Academic Performance Program.
— Posted a bunch of preseason rankings this week, but overlooked a few from the boys at ESPN. Pat Forde ranks UW No. 7, which is the highest I’ve seen from anyone so far. Andy Katz has the Huskies at No. 12.
Rivals.com is a little more skeptical of Washington, placing it No. 23 in its preseason top 25 poll.
— ESPN’s Chad Ford believes former Tacoma standout Avery Bradley is a lottery pick in the upcoming draft and compared his quickness and explosiveness to Rajon Rondo and Russell Westbrook.
— New Oregon coach Dana Altman signed his second recruit, 6-8 junior college forward Tyrone Nared out of Monroe College in the Bronx, N.Y. That’s a long way to travel for a player, however, Nared previously committed Altman when he was at Creighton and was released from his letter of intent.
UCLA is renovating Pauley Pavilion and Bruins athletic director Dan Guerrero explains why.
— Just in case Kentucky misses on Jones, the Wildcats have alternate plans and here’s a look at the Wildcats’ Plan C, D and E.
— If you wonder why the John Calipari-to-the-NBA rumors keep popping up, well here’s why.
— Pretty amusing satirical take on Calipari courtesy of A Sea of Blue, Wildcats fan site. The story takes a jab at Jones and our own Steve Kelley.
