Quincy Pondexter Skips NBA Combine Because of Injury

Washington senior Quincy Pondexter (left) was one of two players who didn’t show up at the NBA combine, which could hurt his chances of being taken in the first round of the June 24 draft. There were 53 invitees.
Pondexter reportedly hyper-extended his finger during a workout last week, according to the DraftExpress.com.
The Hoops Report says NBA executives wanted to see Pondexter participate in drills alongside prospects Luke Babbitt, Devin Ebanks, Stanley Robinson and Damion James to determine his value.
Pondexter was spotted on a plane leaving Miami with a some type of brace, cast or splint on his finger last week. Sources say he’ll recover in time to workout for teams before the draft.
The other player who skipped the combine was Memphis sophomore Elliott Williams.
Here’s the measurements of a couple of notable players who participated in the combine:
— Seattle University forward Charles Garcia, the former UW commit, measured 6-8 1/4 without shoes and 232 pounds.
Avery Bradley, the Texas freshman and former Tacoma standout, was 6-2 (w/o shoes) and 180 pounds.
It’s also interesting to note California senior Jerome Randle, who was the MVP of the Portsmouth Invitational was not invited to the combine. Without Pondexter, the Pac-10 was absent from the combine for the first time in recent memory.
