While reflecting on the passing of legendary UCLA coach John Wooden (left), ex-Washington coach Marv Harshman (right) said: “It’s a sad time for basketball,”
In a conversation with Jerry Brewer, the 92-year-old Harshman said: “We lost the best coach ever. We lost one of the best gentlemen, too.”
Harshman holds the distinction of being the last coach to beat Wooden — a 103-81 Huskies victory over UCLA on Feb. 22, 1975.
