Report: Texas Will Remain In The Big 12

Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com is reporting Texas will not accept an invitation from the Pac-10 and will stay in the Big 12.
If this is true, then the Pac-16 proposal likely dies because Texas is the linchpin in securing Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
There’s conflicting reports on what will happen with Texas A&M. The Aggies reportedly do not want to join the Pac-10 and is being courted by the Southeastern Conference. But if Texas stays put, then it will be interesting to see what happens with Texas A&M.
If the Aggies still leave, not sure if a nine-member Big 12 is viable. It’s strange Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have stayed relatively silent and are seemingly allowing Texas to control their futures.
Oklahoma has a rich football tradition and Oklahoma State has one of the richest supporters in T. Boone Pickens who rivals Oregon’s Phil Knight in fan interest and financial support.
Meanwhile, Texas state legislature is urging the schools to not make a decision until they meet legislature meets Wednesday.
