Kyle Wiltjer, a 6-foot-9 forward from Portland (Ore.) Jesuit, verbally committed to Kentucky. The Huskies reportedly offered him a scholarship, but he was a long shot for UW. His final list included: California, Georgia Tech, Gonzaga, Kansas, Texas and Wake Forest.
“I”m very excited to be a part of that team,” Wiltjer told ESPNU. “The one thing is I wanted to surround myself with the best players. They have a great recruiting class coming in and I thought it would be a great fit.”
— Former UW recruit Roburt Sallie, who spent the last two seasons at Memphis after playing in junior college his freshman year, will not finish his college career at Louisville because he did not complete academic requirements to transfer as a graduate student on time.
— It’s a little old, but Jeff Goodman at Fox Sports writes about a new NCAA rule that prohibits so-called “package deals” where schools hire people who are connected to recruits.
