It’s official: Oregon loses Michael Dunigan to Israeli team

Oregon center Michael Dunigan left school and signed a three-year deal with Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem.
The 6-foot-10, 242-pound junior is the fifth player to leave the team since the Ducks hired coach Dana Altman. The other defections include: Drew Wiley (Boise State), Josh Crittle (Central Florida), Matt Humphrey (Boston College) and Jamil Wilson (Marquette).
Dunigan averaged 9.0 points and 4.9 rebounds last season and led Oregon in field goal percentage (55.4 percent) and blocked shots (1.3 per game).
Oregon has just nine players on scholarship and only two players 6-6 or taller.
MONDAY LINKS:
Javier Morales at the Tucson Citizen has seen UW recruit Angelo Chol play this summer in a Las Vegas tournament and he’s impressed with the 6-8, 200-pound center/forward. Morales writes: “Chol can play significant minutes for any Division I program right away.”
According to Dave Telep at Scout.com, Chol visited Alabama on Saturday. He’ll trip to Kansas in November and planned a Feb. 12 visit to Washington when the Huskies host Stanford. Chol is expected to sign in the regular-signing period that begins April 13, 2011 and ends May 18.
— Got some questions about the recruiting schedule so here’s a link to the NCAA site that lays out the 2010-11 Division I men’s basketball recruiting calendar.
