Basketball practice begins this week for most Pac-10 schools and Arizona and Oregon State held its Media Day today.
So more news is starting to come in from around the conference. Here’s a few links.
— Remember Roberto Nelson? Oregon State’s star sophomore is still facing eligibility issues and may not make his debut until Dec. 12. The Beavers aren’t talking big because they of team of nine players who are freshmen and sophomores and four seniors.
— Here’s a replay of Arizona coach Sean Miller (left) alking to the press today during Wildcats Media Day.
Doug Haller at the Arizona Republic had an interview with Sun Devils sophomore Ruslan Pateev, a 7-foot sophomore from Russia.
— Arizona State coach Herb Sendek is the arguably the Dean of NCAA coaches. Eight of his former assistants are head coaches at Division I programs.
College Hoops.net continues its pre-season series on the top 144 teams and the latest installment includes write-ups on California and Washington State.
— Rivals.com unveiled it’s new team rankings for 2011 class and Washington moves into No. 16. The site says the Huskies have four commits Tony Wroten, Hikeem Stewart, Jenard Jarreau and Andrew Andrews. However, Andrews isn’t expected to enroll until 2012. In the same list, Arizona is No. 8 and Oregon is No. 15.
