Pac-10 is perfect 6-0 after two days

It’s early, but the Pac-10 is off to a good start this season. The league took a beating in non-conference games last season and many believe it will struggle again this season.
However, the conference is undefeated after six games against relatively cream puffs. The first real challenge will come Tuesday when Arizona State travels to New Mexico.
Before we get to the links, here’s a look at today’s Pac-10 games.
Texas-Arlington at Oregon State, 1:30 p.m.
Idaho State at Arizona, 3 p.m.
UC Santa Barbara at Oregon, 5:45 p.m.
My picks: Oregon State, Arizona and Oregon
Season record: 4-0
SUNDAY MORNING LINKS:
Steve Kelley was very impressed with Washington’s 118-64 win over McNeese State, comparing it to the Dream Team’s domination over Angola in the 1992 Summer Olympics.
— Here’s our game story along with write-ups from the Everett Herald, the News Tribune and The Daily.
Reggie Moore didn’t play, DeAngelo Casto didn’t start, Klay Thompson took 10 shots and Washington State still managed to win its opener 86-47 against Southern. Moore is out indefinitely with a wrist injury and Casto was benched because he was late for a class.
— USC’s new up-tempo offense sputtered at times, but the Trojans were able to defeat UC Irvine 62-49.
— Oregon improved to 2-0 with a 68-56 victory over Denver.
— In case you missed it, Mesa, Ariz. point guard Jahii Carson signed with Arizona State on Friday.
— It’s a little old, but here’s an early look at Eastern Washington, UW’s opponent Tuesday. The Eagles lost their opener Friday 67-60 to former Husky Adrian Oliver and San Jose. Oliver poured in a game-high 34 points, including 14 in the final 6:25 minutes.
— Oklahoma is a much different team the past two seasons than the one Blake Griffin led to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2009. The Sooners won their opener 77-57 over Coppin State.
Kalin Lucas led No. 2 Michigan State to a 96-66 win over Eastern Michigan in the Spartans’ season opener.
