Washington’s new Nike Elite jerseys which were unveiled last week in Hawaii are on sale at the team store inside Emundson Pavilion. The jersey features a silohette design of UW’s Suzzallo Library, a “W” just below the numbers and the words “Bow Down To Washington” running in a banner.
Isaiah Thomas’ No. 2 jersey is the only one among the current players being sold. The store also had Brandon Roy’s No. 3.
FRIDAY MORNING LINKS:
— Amazing effort by UCLA in its 77-76 loss to No. 4 Kansas last night. Tyler Honeycutt displayed why some believe he’s a first-round draft pick next summer and scored a career-high 33 points and foul-prone freshman Joshua Smith responded after being benched and finished with 17 points, 13 rebounds and just two fouls. The Bruins, however, couldn’t overcome a horrible call from officials with .07 seconds left that allowed Kansas to convert a free throw and keep its 64-game home winning streak intact.
— Things are so bad in Oregon, the Ducks are happy about moral victories and games like last night’s 83-80 defeat to No. 9 Missouri lets everyone know new coach Dana Altman has the program headed in the right direction after a summer of defections and upheaval.
— Arizona State couldn’t stop LaceDarius Dunn who sank all six of his three-pointers and lifted No. 11 Baylor past the Sun Devils 68-54 last night. Dunn finished with 24 points before leaving late in the second half with an apparent arm injury.
— Washington State faces a measuring stick tonight when No. 6 Kansas State visits Friel Court. Cougars coach Ken Bone wants to know if his team is tough enough to play with the Wildcats who destroyed them 86-69 loss in Manhattan, Kansas last year. In that game, WSU committed 26 turnovers. DeAngelo Casto returns after missing two games, but there’s still some uncertainty if sophomore guard Reggie Moore (left wrist) will make his season debut.
