UCLA’s Reeves double winner; Pac-10 shut out of polls again

UCLA sophomore forward Reeves Nelson captured his second Pac-10 Player of the Week award. The league coaches gave him the honors after he averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, while shooting 54.5 percent (12-for-22) from the field during a pair of wins against No. 16 BYU and UC Davis.
Nelson scored a career-high 23 points in the 86-79 win over BYU, which helped the Bruins snap a five-game losing streak to ranked teams. In the 74-67 victory against UC Poly, he finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.
He won the award in Week 1.
IN OTHER NEWS:
— The Pac-10 was shut out of the rankings for the second straight week.
