Nevada game thread

IT’S OVER — UW 90-60. Cant’ wait to tally the Guess the UW Score contest. I know I’m close.
WHY IS THOMAS IN THE GAME? — Seems off Thomas is still on the court. UW 85-51, 3:37.
NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE — Holiday limped off. UW 83-49, 5:00.
WOW — Nothing but highlights for the Huskies. Holiday dunking. Gaddy dribbling. Suggs hitting threes. It’s a spectacular showcase and an amazing display of fireworks. I’m slowing down to write the game story. UW 83-44, 6:50.
THOMAS OUT — Not sure if he’ll return. UW 71-42, 10:00.
THOMAS GOING FOR HIS CAREER HIGH? — Thomas has a season-high 22 points. His career best is 30. He’s got about five minutes to reach the mark. UW 68-42, 10:34.
NO ONE GET HURT — That’s got to be what coach Lorenzo Romar is thinking at this point. The Huskies are up comfortably. They’re going to win this game by at least 20 points. UW 66-36, 11:54.
HIGHLIGHTS — Thomas connected with Bryan-Amaning on a halfcourt pass, however, the big Brit missed the layup. N’Diaye cleaned up the glass, stuffing the putback for two-hand dunk. On UW’s next possession, Thomas threw an alley-oop pass to Ross for a two-hand jam. UW 61-36, 14:04.
BYE, BYE GADDY — Gaddy collected a silly foul while trying not to pick up a foul. He’s on the bench with four. UW 54-30, 16:25.
PULLING AWAY — The Huskies are overpowering the Wolf Pack down low. N’Diaye and Bryan-Amaning are going to work. UW 54-30, 17:02.
SECOND HALF — Same starters.
HALFTIME OBSERVATIONS — Beautiful way to end the first half. Thomas dribbled down the clock before going around a pick set by Bryan-Amaning, driving into the lane and drawing two defenders before dishing to Wilcox on the wing. The UW sharpshooter knocked down a three-pointer and the crowd went wild.
The Huskies are up 20 points, but somehow it feels as if it they haven’t played all that well and should be leading by 30 or more. Still, it’s been a pretty impressive performance. Especially Thomas. He’s come out very aggressive. He’s driving, shooting, defending and creating opportunities for teammates. He has 12 points, six rebounds and three assists. Wow. Bryan-Amaning has benefited from some good passes. If he were better than 3 for 7 at the line, he’d have double digit scoring. As it is, he has nine points.
Holiday and Ross are the other early stars. Holiday has made a difference with his shooting and Ross is doing a little of everything.
Washington has 10 assists, Nevada none.
HALFTIME STATS — Click here.
HALFTIME — UW 47-27.

THOMAS HEATING UP — Thomas has connected on a pair of three-pointers in the past two minutes. UW 41-27, 2:22.
ROSS SITS DOWN — Nice game for Ross. Probably his best first half this season. He has seven points, an assists and a steal. UW 38-23, 3:44.
HIGHLIGHT — Nevada lost the ball, Ross corralled it and threw it out to Holiday who raced ahead of everybody and flushed a two-hand dunk. UW 31-18, 5:35.
NEVADA IS OUT OF CONTROL — The Wolf Pack aren’t running offense anymore. They’re standing around and jacking up threes and UW is corralling the rebounds and making good shots. Ross hit a 3 and Thomas drove the lane for another layup. UW 29-16, 6:29.
GANT GETTING MINUTES — When it seemed as if Gant was out of the rotation, he’s been given a lot of minutes so far tonight. UW 24-16, 7:37.
IT’S 10 — Washington is up 24-14 thanks to a long jumper by Terrence Ross.
TWO NICE PLAYS BY THOMAS — Thomas did a great job slowing the ball down on an erratic possession before driving in for a layup. On the other end, he took a charge. UW 22-14, 9:48.
STRANGE GAME — Maybe it’s the refs, but this game doesn’t really have a rhythm just yet. Maybe it’s the low energy from the crowd. Washington is in control. The Huskies have gotten out on the break, but they’ve failed to convert contested layups. Just not a lot of energy in the building. UW 18-11, 11:41.
MEDIA TIMEOUT — Massive subs. Darnell Gant, Scott Suggs and C.J. Wilcox will check in when play resumes. Gaddy, Holiday and N’Diaye looks like they’re out. Uneven start for the Huskies. They’re losing the rebound battle 9-6. They’ve sank 5 of 13 shots and forced three turnovers. UW 12-9, 13:40.
HOLIDAY’S QUICK START — Holiday has two three-pointers. UW 10-7.
STARTING LINEUPS — No change for UW: Abdul Gaddy, Isaiah Thomas, Aziz N’Diaye, Matthew Bryan-Amaning and Justin Holiday.
F – Kevin Panzer
F – Dario Hunt
F – Olek Czyz
G – Malik Story
G – Deonte Burton
BIG MAC — Todd MacCulloch is in the house. He’s standing on the baseline chatting with assistant Paul Fortier.
LATE-ARRIVING CROWD — We’re about 16 minutes from tip-off and the building is less than half full.
OVERTON IS OUT — Just got word, Overton will not play tonight.
OVERTON OUT? — It looks as if Venoy Overton will miss tonight’s game. He’s dressed in shorts and his warmups, however, he’s sat on the bench next to Tyreese Breshers while the Huskies have gone through their pregame warmups. Overton hyper-extended his knee Monday.
