After 84 years, Oregon’s Mac Court closes after today’s game

It’s a historic day today in Oregon. MacArthur Court, the second oldest on-campus arena in the country, will host its final Oregon game after 84 years.
The Ducks (7-6, 0-1 Pac-10) hosts Arizona State (7-5, 0-1) in the only Pac-10 game today. This contest may have consequences in February to decide who finishes last in the league.
Oregon opens at the Matthew Knight Arena on Jan. 13 against UCLA. The video (above) gives a glimpse of the new building and the snazzy new floor that’s drawn mixed reviews.
Today’s pick: Oregon
Record: 4-0
NEW YEAR’S DAY LINKS:
— The News Tribune found UW assistant Paul Fortier after Friday’s game and talked to him about Isaiah Thomas, who passed Fortier and moved into 16th place on the school’s all-time scoring list.
— Here’s how Washington’s 74-63 victory looked from a couple of Los Angeles perspectives.

— UCLA Bruins point guard Lazeric Jones injured the middle finger on his right hand and sat out most of the second half.
— Washington State had big hopes after compiling a 10-2 nonconference record, however, the Cougars suffered their third straight loss and opened the Pac-10 0-2 after their 60-56 defeat at USC.
