Pac-10 roundup: Arizona is all alone at top of the conference

No. 21 Arizona took over sole possession of the Pac-10 race with a 78-69 victory at Stanford.
Despite a sprained pinkie on his right (shooting hand), Wildcats star Derrick Williams finished with 21 points. Lamont Jones added 15 points and Jesse Perry had 12.
Here’s a look at the conference standings.
FRIDAY MORNING LINKS:
— UW coach Lorenzo Romar said he’s to blame for the defensive breakdowns that have contributed to last night’s 68-56 defeat at Oregon State.
— Maybe it was a Husky Hangover that led to Washington State’s 69-43 defeat last night at Oregon. The Cougars looked to be on a roll after Sunday’s big win against UW, but they just didn’t show up on Thursday.
— Give the Ducks credit. They led from start to finish. They held WSU to a .259 shooting percentage and the Cougars’ 23 points in the first half were the fewest against Oregon by a Pac-10 opponent.
— California is on a four-game winning streak following last night’s 66-62 victory over Arizona State. Freshman Allen Crabbe drained a big three-pointer late in the game.
— It’s bad, bad, bad for Arizona State. The Sun Devils dropped their eighth straight conference game.
— Stanford had its chances, but the Cardinal faded in the final minutes to Arizona.
— Former UCLA coach Steve Lavin gets no love from current Bruins players.
