Bittersweet night for UW incoming frosh Andrew Andrews

Andrew-Andrews mug.jpg
Washington incoming freshman Andrew Andrews (left) scored 41 points for Benson last night in Oregon’s Class 5A boys basketball final. Still it wasn’t enough as the Techmen fell 79-73 in double overtime to Corvallis High.
Andrews had a chance to win the game in the first overtime, but missed a shot in the lane in heavy traffic. He connected on 15 of 26 field goals, including six three-pointers.
It’s a little dated, but here’s a nice package that includes an insightful story and videos from the Oregonian about the 6-foot-2 point guard.
Andrews signed scholarship papers with UW, but he won’t enroll until the fall of 2012. He’s going to attend a prep school next season and may likely attend Brewster Academy, a private school in Wolfeboro, N.H.
