Washington incoming freshman Tony Wroten Jr. will practice next week with Team USA before playing in the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit against the World Select Team at Portland’s Rose Garden.
Last summer Wroten helped USA to an 8-0 record and a gold medal at the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship in Germany. He averaged 8.4 points, 4.3 assists and 3.5 steals in just 20.3 minutes per game. Here’s his highlights (above).
Wroten spoke to USAbasketball.com in a Q&A about last year’s experience and what he expects will happen next week.
Wroten is the only player participating in the Summit who plans to attend a Pac-12 school. The game features four future Kentucky players and two who are committed to Duke.
