Former UW recruit Kevin Davis signs with Central Washington

It wasn’t long ago when Washington was on the trails of Kevin Davis, a 6 foot 9 forward who starred at Todd Beamer High in Federal Way.
He committed to the Huskies as a senior, but attended College of Southern Idaho in 2010 due to academic reasons. Davis transferred to Tacoma Community College last year where he failed to crack the starting lineup.
Still he hoped to join the class of 2011 and enroll at UW, but that didn’t happen. At the time, it was believed Davis’ didn’t get into school because of academic reasons, but the Huskies also likely cooled on the idea of giving a scholarship to a JC player who averaged 9.3 points and 7.5 rebounds as a backup.
Davis found a suitor in Central Washington and signed with the Wildcats. He’ll begin playing in the fall and will have three years of eligibility.
“Kevin is a Division I level athlete,” TCC coach Carl Howell, a former CWU assistant said in a statement released by Central. “I think with all the great offensive talent CWU will put around him, he should make a major impact with his rebounding and defense.”
