Scott Suggs fractures right foot, expected to miss 8-12 weeks

The Washington Huskies announced senior co-captain Scott Suggs will undergo surgery this afternoon to repair a fracture in his right foot. He’s expected to miss 8-12 weeks.
Here’s the release from the school.
Suggs is the third leading returning scorer for the Huskies. He averaged 7.4 points in 31 games last season. He also shot 45.0 percent on three-pointers, which ranked third in the Pac-10.
According to the release, Suggs felt discomfort in his foot Tuesday and underwent test that confirmed a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot. Team doctor Chris Wahl will perform the surgery at the UW Medical Center.
Suggs, a native of Washington, Mo., will likely miss the game at Saint Louis. The Huskies scheduled the game in part for Suggs, who was expecting a large turnout of family and friends.
If he returns in eight weeks, he may be available for the Dec. 10 game against Duke at New York’s Madison Square Garden. A 12-week recovery has him back on the court Jan. 6 with 16 regular-season games remaining.
