Aziz N’Diaye out, Desmond Simmons starts in exhibition

Washington will start guards Abdul Gaddy, C.J. Wilcox, Terrence Ross and forwards Darnell Gant and Desmond Simmons in Friday’s 7 p.m. exhibition against Seattle Pacific at Edmundson Pavilion.
Junior Aziz N’Diaye is not expected to play after suffering a concussion days ago. Ironically coach Lorenzo Romar identified the 7-foot center as a likely starter.
Simmons, a 6 foot 7 redshirt freshman, makes his first start. He’ll be paired with 6-8 Gant in the front court. They’ll have their hands full against SPU’s Andy Poling, a 6-11 and 240-pound junior. In his last outing, Poling finished with 14 points on 5-for-8 shooting and five rebounds in a 69-68 win at No. 16 Arizona.
