Georgia State live game thread

IT’S OVER — UW 91-74.
WEGNER SCORES — For his first college shot, Wegner took a three and sank a three. He’s not shy. UW 91-71.
JARREAU REDSHIRTING? — Everyone has checked in with the exception of Andrew Andrews and Jernard Jarreau. UW 88-67, 2:05.
RESERVES CHECKING IN — Shawn Kemp Jr. and Hikeem Stewart are in. UW 80-58, 6:12.
FIRMLY IN CONTROL — The reserves will slowly enter the game. This one is practically done. Not looking good for my 95-70 prediction. UW 78-54, 7:49.
FOUR WITH AT LEAST 10 — Four Huskies are in double-digit scoring. Wilcox leads with 20 points, Gant 18, Ross 11 and Wroten 10. UW 70-44, 13:01.
TAKING CONTROL — The Huskies are surging. N’Diaye has a career-high tying five blocks and he’s controlling the paint. He also scored on a nice layup. UW 61-41, 15:17.
CAREER HIGH — Gant has a career-high 13 points. UW 61-41, 15:25.
PAYBACK — N’Daye emphatically blocked Richardson’s short jumper, which sent the crowd in a frenzy. UW 56-38.
GETTING TESTY — Richardson and N’Diaye picked up a technical fouls because of a confrontation. Wilcox drained another trey. UW 55-42,17:33.
FOUL TROUBLE — White has four fouls. UW 51-36, 17:42.
FIRST POSSESSION — The Huskies posted Ross, who missed a short jumper. N’Diaye scored on the putback. Both teams traded three-pointers. UW 48-36.
SECOND HALF — No changes for UW. GSU will start Richardson and Buckner for Ali and Fields.
HALFTIME OBSERVATIONS — Ragged first half for the Huskies. After a promising 11-2 start, the offense fell apart. In truth, UW never had much rhythm offensively. It missed its first three shots and a few players are having difficulty getting shots to fall. Gant scored 10 points in the first six minutes, but not sure if he’s taken a shot since that red-hot start. Wilcox leads UW with 12 points, including three three-pointers.
Wroten had a miserable start that included turnovers and missed shots. He’s settled down. In the final six minutes of the half, he scored two layups on dribble drives. He also had four rebounds.
Otherwise, the Huskies can’t get much of anything going on the offensive end. Ross is 2 for 5, Gaddy is 1 for 5 and N’Diaye is 0 for 3.
The two point-guard lineup hasn’t produced positive early results. When Gaddy brings the ball up, Wroten drifts to the right wing and he waits for the ball. When Wroten has it, he’ll pass to Gaddy who missed his only three-point attempt. They need more time together to figure things out.
The Huskies need to find somebody who can shut down Richardson. He has a game-high 15 points. Ross has been assigned to him at time, but the GSU sophomore guard still has room to drain 5 of 6 three-pointers. Richardson is keeping the Panthers in the game. No one else has more than seven points.
HALFTIME STATS — Click here.
HALFTIME — UW 43-33.

NICE REBOUND — Ross elevated for a missed Gaddy thee-pointer and finished the sequence with a nifty putback in traffic. UW 41-31, 1:06.
MAN DOWN — Fields is curled on the floor. Not sure what happened. The GSU trainer and coach Ron Hunter is with him. Fields was helped to the locker room. UW 33-28, 3:57.
BEAUTIFUL — Wilcox grabbed a rebound and drove the distance for a layup despite being fouled. He hit the free throw. UW 31-25, 5:21.
DEFENSIVE STOPPER? — Ross is on Richardson.
GADDY ON THE GLASS — Gaddy has a game-high tying five rebounds. UW 28-23, 7:26.
ALL TIED UP — Rashaad Richardson didn’t start, but he’s put his stamp on this game. He’s got a game-high 12 points. He just drained a three-pointer to tie the score 23-23 with 7:58 left.
WOW II — Buckner flushed a putback jam to quiet the crowd. UW 15-14, 10:35.
WOW — Wroten went up for what looked like a breakaway layup, but 6-7 F Eric Buckner blocked his shot at the rim and both players went flying to the floor for an awkward landing. Wroten drew the foul and missed both free throws. UW 15-12, 11:50.
FOURTH SUB — Martin Breunig checks in for Simmons. UW 15-12, 12:31.
BACK IN IT — UW led 11-2. Now it’s 13-12 UW at 14:06.
GANT TIES CAREER HIGH — Well that didn’t take long. Gant has 10 points in the first six minutes of the season opener, which ties his career high. UW 13-10, 14:44.
SECOND SUB — Desmond Simmons is in for N’Diaye. UW 8-2, 16:35.
FIRST SUB — Tony Wroten Jr. makes an appearance. Ross is out. UW 5-2, 17:11.
QUICK FOUL — Just like the exhibition, Gant picked up a foul on UW’s first defensive possession.
LITTLE GUYS — GSU is short. Micheaux, 6-6, jumped center with N’Diaye. UW won the tip.
DECENT CROWD — Not a bad crowd considering the UW football game is on television and the parking situation is complicated. The place is more than half full. Should get about 8,000 today.
STARTING LINEUPS — UW: G Abdul Gaddy, G C.J. Wilcox, C Aziz N’Diaye, F Darnell Gant and F Terrence Ross.
GSU: G Jihad Ali, G Devonta White, G Jamie Fields, G/F Josh Micheaux and F Brandon McGee.
MIKE ON THE MIKE — UW play-by-play man Bob Rondeau is in Los Angeles with the football team, which means KJR’s Mike Gastineau makes his annual appearance. He has a 3-3 record as UW’s broadcaster.
NO TV — Today’s game is not being televised, which means there’s no online feeds. You can find the game on the radio at KKNW 1150 AM.
PORTLAND WINS — Portland defeated Florida Atlantic 70-65 in the first game.
