Arizona, WSU and Oregon pull out comeback wins

PROGRAMMING NOTE: Live chat with Washington athletic director Scott Woodward at noon Friday.
Thursday was a tough night for the Pac-12 as all five teams in action trailed in the second half, but three teams were able to pull out victories.
AROUND THE PAC-12:
— No. 15 Arizona remained perfect with a 81-72 victory over St. John’s at the 2K Sports Classic in Madison Square Garden. The Wildcats (4-0) trailed by a point with 4:22 remaining, but outscored the Red Storm 13-4 down the stretch.
— Washington State coach Ken Bone benched starters Reggie Moore, Faisal Aiden an Charlie Enquist and the Cougars fell behind 14-3 after 6 1/2 minutes. WSU (1-1) trailed by three points at halftime, but outscored Sacramento State by 14 in the second half for a 79-68 win.
E.J. Singler’s steal preceded a layup by Tony Woods with 6:24 remaining, which put Oregon ahead for good and gave the Ducks a (1-1) 73-65 win over Eastern Washington.
— USC overcame a nine-point deficit with 2:46 left and tied the score, but the Trojans (1-2) surrendered a basket to San Diego State with 1.8 seconds left and lost 56-54.
— Colorado fell 67-58 to Wichita State in the opening round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off at San Juan.
