Jabari Brown quits Oregon

Oregon coach Dana Altman is leaving the door open for prized freshman Jabari Brown, who left the Ducks.
“He came in yesterday and told me he had decided to leave. I don’t want him to leave and I did try to talk him out of it. I asked him to reconsider and the door is still open,” Altman said after Oregon’s 86-61 win over Southeast Missouri State on Sunday. “It’s his decision and he is a talented young man. He is a good basketball player and I want him to be a good basketball player here. I am not closing the door and I sure would like to work with him. He was frustrated and I don’t think he got off to the start he wanted to here.”
Brown, a 6 foot 5 guard was averaging 6.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in two starts. He was shooting .273 from the field and had a team-high 11 turnovers.
Brown was rated a five-star recruit by Rivals and Scout, while ESPN gave him four stars and ranked him 26th on its top 100 list. He was also considering Washington, Arizona State and Georgia Tech.
Here’s the video of Altman’s postgame comments on Brown.
